Avoidashrooms (ミナヒキダケ, Minahikidake^?) are one of the many organisms composing the natural enemy, Nature, originating from Gaia's Wrath.

Appearance

Avoidashrooms are a variant of mushrooms that have multiple white spots covering their heads.

Characteristics

Avoidashrooms are considered very dangerous, hence the name given to them. These mushrooms contain chemical hallucinogens that cause anyone who consumes them to experience intense hallucinations and cause the consumer to kill everything around them. Once they kill everything they see, the victim gathers all of the corpses then commits suicide.^[1] The pile of corpses is used as a feeding ground for the Avoidashrooms, allowing them to quickly multiply. If the mushrooms are burned, the chemicals inside them are released into the air.^[1] Therefore, the humans of Gaia's Wrath wall the Avoidashrooms off whenever they encounter the mushrooms in the forest.

The only known way to eliminate Avoidashrooms without risking the hallucinogens leaking into the air is by using a Soul Container to drain the mushrooms of their life energy, though this also causes the soil underneath the mushrooms to be drained of life energy as well, preventing the soil from ever being used to grow new plant life.^[2]

History

Background

At some point in the past, Avoidashrooms appeared alongside the Azure Forest and began spreading throughout the forest. When she was a young child, Nukizumi's grandmother had to abandon her village due to the Avoidashrooms.^[3]

Current Arc

As Hallow, Panepane, Pakkya, Bastz, and Nukizumi are making their way to Spiral Mountain to find Gigatila, they encounter a group of Avoidashrooms. Nukizumi warns the others about the dangers of the Avoidashrooms and their ability to spread through spores in the air. Panepane worries whether the Avoidashrooms managed to take over Spiral Mountain, though Pakkya assures the fairy that because of the high air currents around the mountain, the spores wouldn't be able to consume the mountain. Bastz decides to take drastic actions and uses a soul container to absorb the life force of the Avoidashrooms, killing them. Though Nukizumi is impressed by Bastz's ability to take out the Avoidashrooms, Bastz explains that he not only eliminated the mushrooms, but also absorbed the life force of the soil, preventing it from ever being used to bear life again.^[2]
