Freen is a man of modest height with a stout build, round face and light, short hair. He is clad in the customary uniform of the Mage Force, which consists of a tunic, loose-fitting trousers, and simple footwear, all beneath the emblematic robes of a mage.
Personality
Freen exudes a serene and composed demeanor, demonstrating initiative and a readiness to assist others when necessary. He adheres to Zaybi's directives without objection.
Upon witnessing Hallow's injuries, Freen's reaction is one of subdued alarm, revealing his realization that even a hero of considerable strength is not invulnerable to the might of a Demon Lord.
Plot
Introduction Arc
After Hallow regains consciousness, he is soon greeted by the sight of Freen, Zaybi, and Wally approaching. Panepane reveals to Hallow that it was the mages who tended to his injuries.[1] Freen's concern is palpable as he observes the extent of Hallow's wounds, perplexed and troubled by the thought of a Hero being so grievously injured in battle with the Great Demon King's forces.[2] Amidst this, the mages' ritual to summon an another world commences, inadvertently leading demons to their location, lured by the scent of blood. A fierce battle ensues, with Freen and his mage companions valiantly combating the demons. Just as the situation grows dire, the Mecha Ordinance's human troops arrive, turning the tide and vanquishing the demonic assailants.[3]
As Freen and his companions acquaint themselves with the newcomers from another world, they uncover a shared quest for aid, leading to the merging of their worlds. Yet, the harmony is shattered by an eerie melody heralding the robots' approach.[4] Zaybi and Wally swiftly neutralize the threat, subsequently forging a pact with the human troops, a development that brings joy to both Freen and Wally.[5] However, the respite is brief; new demonic forces emerge, and the robots come back online. Freen proposes utilizing his flight magic to transport all humans to safety within their stronghold, however, the spell requires about five minutes to cast. During this critical period, the group dedicates themselves to defending Freen as he commences the vital incantation.[6]
In the midst of a fierce battle, Zaybi and Wally valiantly confront the robotic adversaries as their human comrades engage the demonic forces.[7] The tide turns grim when an Advanced Robot and Kiva, the formidable Combat Executive of the Great Demon King Army's 11th Division, enter the fray, overwhelming the human fighters.[8] In a protective feat, Hallow shields Freen and Keila from a vehicle hurled by Kiva.[9] A twist of fate leads Hallow to inadvertently pit the Advanced Robot against Kiva, allowing Freen to cast a flight spell, whisking the surviving humans to safety.[10][11] Upon reaching the sanctuary of Humanity's Fortress, Freen diligently tends to Wally's injuries.[12]
Upon Glasp's arrival, he requests an update on the current state of their conjoined world. The major general inquires about the nature of the teleportation device. Zaybi clarifies that it operates through teleportation magic, and prompts Freen to elaborate. Freen explains that they — the mages — have established a network of teleportation circles globally, which enables summoning from an alternate world. Despite the amalgamation of the worlds, the locations of these circles remain unchanged. Freen further details that these circles facilitate the casting of teleportation magic, allowing for extensive travel. However, he notes that other humans must be accompanied by a mage from the Mage Forces to utilize these circles.[13]
Demons vs Aliens Arc
Freen, alongside fellow mages, emerges to reinforce Hallow in a fierce battle against a legion of demonic troops besieging their stronghold.[14]
Afterwards, the demons receive aid in recovering from life-threatening wounds inflicted by the madalans. This assistance comes as the mages, Freen among them, channel their mana into the demons. Through this act of magic, the demons will be fortified to persist in their battle against the aliens, providing the humans with the crucial time need to orchestrate their retreat via the Grand Teleportation Magic Circle.[15]
Demons vs Titans Arc
Upon their harrowing escape to the Land of the Lawless, the humans are immediately thrust into chaos, observing the Lawless in conflict, only to discover the cause: a parasitic infection among them. The situation escalates when the Lawless incinerate the parasite, revealing an injured woman held captive. In a sudden twist, Freen informs Zaybi about King Mynths trying to tell them something. The king then cryptically accuses that a "man clad in black" did something to him — presumably Bastz — before his demise.[16] The mages, including Freen, mourn their deceased king, whose body begins to convulse unexpectedly, revealing another parasitic infection.[17] In a selfless act, Zaybi encases the king and himself within a cubic barrier, confronting the parasitic threat. After the ordeal, Zaybi, now drenched in the king's blood, raises alarm over potential infection. Freen and Wally are seen worried for their captain.[18]
As Zaybi aids Samone with another parasite host, his depleted mana reserves become evident, which Freen notes.[19] In a critical moment, his powers fail him, and he collapses, leaving Freen and Wally in despair. Their cries for their captain are cut short when the Lawless intervene, destroying the parasite and "rescuing" Zaybi from certain death.[20]
After the Lawless retreat and the humans take shelter, Freen and Wally are asked by Glasp to help him with the plan. The duo then informs Zaybi of the plan and that Zaybi can decline if he wants. After a short conversation on the condition of Neo-Terra's humans that helped Zaybi, Freen and Wally reveal they have consumed white pills beforehand and preparation is complete. Freen uses Lockout Magic: Cube while Wally uses Toxic Magic: Poison Cloud. As Zaybi writhes in pain, Freen wants to stop and cast anti-poison only to see Zaybi calling for another poison spell. As the duo displays concerns when Zaybi screams out, Zaybi coughs out the parasite alongside his blood, which gets captured by Wally's Cube. The duo casts anti-poison and healing magic on Zaybi right afterwards.[21]
Lawless Kyokai Arc
After the huge Wild Beast Wurm attacks the Lawless group, Kyokai, Zaybi instructs the others to support the Lawless humans. Freen creates a magical barrier and calls out to the injured, telling those who can't fight to come to him.[22]
